Robert Alan Pride, 67, of Pleasant Ridge passed away Monday, April 30, 2012, at
University of Louisville Hospital. He was born Oct. 19, 1944, in Daviess County, Ind.,
to the late Hilbert and Juanita (Hayes) Pride. Bob had been a barber for 49 years and
was the owner of Prides Barber Shop. He was a member of Wing Avenue Baptist Church.
Bob was a Mustang enthusiast and was a member of the Crazy Horse Mustang Club. He
also was a member of the All-American Club at Kentucky Wesleyan College and had been
one of several people who organized the car show that they sponsor every year. He was
an avid collector of antique barber shop memorabilia, enjoyed traveling, taking pictures
and making people laugh. He also had served in the Army Reserves.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Toni Pride; his son, Mark and wife Becky Pride of
Spurgeon, Ind.; a grandson, Joshua (Kristin) Pride, two stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth and
Wayne Wedding, and a great-granddaughter, Trinity Pride, all of Spurgeon; and two brothers,
Royce Pride of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Jerry Pride of Wheatland, Ind.
Services are at noon Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in
Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to benefit the Shriners Clowns, c/o
